Andy Almanza is a graduate.
Steve Boots grew up at Fairhaven Baptist Church. He graduated from high school in 2001 and from college in 2005. Steve met his wife while traveling with the ensemble in the summer after graduation. Eventually, he moved to Virginia in July 2006 to begin working as an assistant pastor for his father-in-law at Gill Grove Baptist Church. He and his wife, Rebekah, were married in December 2006. They have one child, named Jackson, born in September 2009.
Travis Burke is a 1997 graduate who was born and reared in the Godly home of a pastor. He was saved in 1989 at 14 years of age and surrendered to the Lord in 1991. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in pastoral theology, he served as youth pastor and school administrator at Cozaddale Baptist Temple. In 2004, when his father resigned, the church extended to Travis the call to pastor. The Lord has blessed in great and mighty ways with a church that is 100% independent and Baptist. The church is blessed with an academy, bus ministry, church planting, and various other ministries. The Lord has also blessed Travis and his wife Staci with three children to rear for Him. Cozaddale Chronicles is where he writes about doctrine and practice in the local church.
Scott Dean, who also goes by Jeff and Dean, has served the Lord in Mongolia since 2001. In Mongolian, he is also called Jack and Jeep. A graduate of 1995, he and his wife Kristy have four children. When it comes to writing, he follows the quote of a great author: “The right to write badly was the privilege we widely used.” He blogs about his ministry in Mongolia here.
Bill Hardecker was born and raised in Angeles City, Philippines. In 1993, he trusted the Lord Jesus Christ as his Savior and surrendered to God’s call to the ministry. He attended Fairhaven Baptist College and graduated in 1999 with a B.A. in Missions and then earned a M.A. in Bible. Bill joined the staff at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in June of 2004 and became the Associate Pastor. The Hardecker blog is dedicated to devotional and doctrinal topics along with occasional updates regarding family and church events.
Jack Lamb is a 2001 graduate and currently pastors First Baptist Church of Miami, Arizona. In early 2008, he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. Jack blogs about a variety of topics at “Stuff I Like” and can be found on Facebook and Twitter.
Sharon Leslie is a 2008 graduate working in Ogden, Utah at the Berean Baptist Christian Academy. She shares events in her life with far away family on her blog, Pick Me Up Papers. She attends Berean Baptist Church where Dave Mallinak pastors.
Dave Mallinak is a 1993 graduate and pastors the Berean Baptist Church of Ogden, Utah. He teaches and administrates their Christian and Classical school and occasionally posts at Sharper Irony. More often he writes for the Jack Hammer blog.
Rebecca Marquez grew up in the Cleveland, Ohio area and came to Fairhaven in 1999. She married Ray Marquez in 2001 and graduated a year later with a degree in Secondary Education, studying Math and English. She currently works in the Library at Fairhaven. She posts at Feigned Sincerity, writing mostly about her two children, Cowboy and Juju Bean.
Deena Royalty is an alumnus. She and her husband Joel serve at Gospel Baptist Church. She writes the Royalty Review.
Dustin Speckhals is a 2009 graduate and currently resides in York County, Pennsylvania. Originally from Lansing, Michigan, he came to Fairhaven in 2005, where he graduated with a BA in Pastoral Theology. He serves at Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Brogue, where he helps with the teenagers, mainly focused with junior high. He posts anything from light theological studies to family news at Be Instant.
Andrea Speckhals is a 2006 graduate who was born and raised at Fairhaven, where her mother was the Dean of Women, and father still is the head of maintenance. Upon graduating from the academy in 2002, Andrea attended college for four years and earned a BS in Secondary Education with a focus on English and Spanish. One year after graduation, she taught at a school in central Mexico for eleven months. She currently teaches a class on life principles to children at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, is active in the choir and band, and serves in the church office. She posts at Be Instant regularly.
Luke Townsley is a graduate.
Jeff Voegtlin is an assistant pastor at Fairhaven Baptist Church. He was born soon after his father started Fairhaven in Chesterton, Indiana. He attended both the academy and college there graduating in 1993 and then earned a master’s degree in Bible exposition from Pensacola Christian College. In 1999, he began work toward a doctor of education degree in educational administration from Bob Jones University. He graduated in 2007. His dissertation is a comparative case study of fundamentalist and classical Christian schools.
Jeff has been assisting in the pastorate at Fairhaven since 1993. He is involved primarily in the education courses in the college and the instrumental music ministry of the academy, college and church. He occasionally posts at You Think Too Much! or Jack Hammer.
